Liverpool charity, The Basement, which aims to eradicate homelessness in the city, has helped thousands of people since its doors opened in 2000. Growing economic problems across the North West meant the charity was struggling to meet demand for its services and needed a larger home so it could provide refuge to as many as 40 rough sleepers a night.

Situated in the heart of Liverpool’s business district, One Derby Square is a multi-let office and retail development that required complete refurbishment inside and outside. Formerly known as Pearl Assurance House, the project required sympathetic and careful management of works to enable tenants and the public to enjoy business as usual during the refurbishment.

Liverpool has seen a massive transformation recently, particularly with the increase of premium office space.
