The Light Aparthotel made national news on the 30th of December 2017 when a fire broke out engulfing the top three apartments within this 19 storey building.

Since the conflagration, the owners invested heavily in not only refurbishing the damaged apartments and common areas, but fully renovating the complete building which have comprised of new M.&E. services, new bedroom reconfigurations, Soft furnishings and a complete redecoration programme to propel it into a four star amenity which reopened in Autumn 2019.
The hotel has been completely re-energised since its enforced closure and now also boasts a 24-hour fitness centre for guests, while corporate travellers can book out the refurbished penthouse roof terrace space.
